Christmas 2009

Christmas is here & what a great month it has been. We had fun parties at school and with family. We visited w/ Grandma & Grandpa Tavis, had dinner walked the lights in Belmont Shore. It's a tradition we really enjoy. Went with the Barden's to see lights in Rancho also. We had plenty to keep busy including raindeer food, cookies for Santa.

Piano Recital

The kids piano recital was really great this year. Karen Fishback is a fantastic teacher~

Chavez Party

Annual Chavez Christmas at Aunt Irene & Uncle David's house ~ We love having our Mexican Christmas w/ really good food. Irene & David sure know how to throw a party. Grandma & Grandpa, Brennen & Ashley and our family all came together to enjoy the evening together. Spencer & Alex played some carols, David played & sang on his guitar "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer." Can't wait for next year, Merry Christmas!

Barden/Chavez Beach Day

The Saturday before Thanksgiving the Barden's came down & we went to the beach. It wasn't too cold and Spencer got to surf w/ Eric and Kory & James. I dug a hole for the girls to play in and they had a great time together. We planned on taking our Christmas photo @ the beach and Shannon found a picture of a sandman in a magazine. Brilliant idea! Eric just laughed because he didn't think it would work. But....it did and everybody helped. We used cookies for his eyes, seaweed for his nose & scarf, shells for his smile, the handle from our bucket that broke for his earmuffs and sand claws for his hands. His name is Newbe (newport beach) the Snowman! We each got great Christmas card photo's from this day!

Fall Soccer

Soccer finished up in November with Samantha making 2 goals her first season! She was the only 4 year old and the smallest so it was great watching her play. Spencer had fun but it was a hard season w/ only 1 win for his team.

Thanksgiving

We always have a great time going to the Desert to visit Grandma & Grandpa for Thanksgiving. It was a gorgeous day and we ate outside with a beautiful view. The weekend was warm enough to swim, drive around the golf cart (when Dad & Grandpa weren't in it golfing), and go to the Holiday Boutique.

Halloween 2009

A few pic's of us...Samantha wore the scarecrow costume that Spencer wore when he was 3. Mom made it for Spencer...Alex never wanted too...but Samantha said "yep, I want to wear it!" Alex was a beautiful queen, Spencer was reluctantly not anything scary...which ended up being a clown. Mom was a combo between a Raven/butterfly!

School with Alex

Samantha waits patiently every day until Alex comes home so she can play school. Alex has turned her room into a classroom and is a great teacher to her sister. They read, write, have recess and take class pictures as you can see~

Gus' Birthday

Hi! We're back. It's been a long time. Today we were at Disneyland celebrating Gus' 11th Birthday. He went on Toy Story Mania for his first time (He smoked me). We had a great time there and I hope that we can come back soon. bye.

Cousin Fun

The kids love seeing their Cousins. They slept out back in tents, had smore's and the girls sang songs! Grandma & Grandpa came for a BBQ and photos!
